Heather Gardens is open for the 2011 season!  We have a lovely selection of spring flowing bulbs, hardy perennials, fertilizers, soil enhancement, weed control, pottery, tools, gloves and more to get your garden off to the right start this year and bring you months of enjoyment through the summer and into the fall.

It's always encouraging and uplifting to see the first signs of spring in ones garden;  the gloom of winter is past and we can finally think about replacing the snow shovel for a garden rake!

We are excited to see the return of The Potting Shed this year, offering antique garden collectables and vintage "gardenalia", as well as new gifts, (many are exclusive from England), for gardening enthusiasts. Featuring greetings cards from Stephen Harley-Sloman, english gardener and photographer and gifts from Baileys Home and Garden, and Big Tomato Company ceramics.

A new addition for 2011 will be beautiful pottery from Chilmark Pottery. Come and check our the stunning pottery from Asia, as well as island thrown pots and containers.

When you visit the garden center you may also notice our new "invasive species" sculptures, by David Joyce.  Some may know David as the chef proprietor of Chescas restaurant, but here David shows his other talent of creating art from nature. David will design a similar piece for your own garden setting upon request.

The Vale greenhouse is stocked with beautiful house plants, succulents and spring bloomers, ready for you to add some color to your home.

The perennials that were put to bed last fall are starting to show signs of life after surviving the winter under cover, and our seletcion of annuals have been seeded in the greenhouses ready for your summer gardens.

As always, you will also find our selection of island grown annuals and perennials at Morning Glory Farm in Edgartown.
